Gloria Blaum (nee Stroud), 77, died Sunday, January 16, 2005, in Port Huron after a long illness. She was born March 22, 1927, in Detroit.

Mrs. Blaum met her husband, Richard Lavonne Blaum of New Holland, Illinois, at the officers' club at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. She enjoyed working in her garden, playing cards and visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Timothy (Denise) Blaum; daughters, Kathleen (William) Braun and Debra Lavonne Blaum; grandchildren, Richard Blaum and Christopher (Carrie) Blaum, Amy (Michael) DeLange and Richard (Tanya) DeBay; four great-grandchildren; sister, Gay (John) Stevenson; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Lavonne Blaum, on Sept. 20, 1953; parents, Hanson and Michaelina (Mazur) Stroud; and brother, Michael (Diane) Stroud.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were directed by Christie-Olszewski Funeral Home, New Baltimore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Debra L. Blaum, P.O. Box 46487, Mount Clemens, MI 48046, which will be given to the Evangelical Home of Port Huron or Lighthouse Hospice of Southfield.
