RIAL, CHARLES W., Corporal, Company H, 6th North Carolina Infantry. Born in Germany and resided in Guilford County prior to enlisting in Caswell County at age 27, June 12, 1861, for the war. Mustered in as Private and promoted to Corporal on October 1, 1862. Present or accounted for until wounded in the right leg and captured at Rappahannock Station, Virginia, November 7, 1863. Hospitalized at Washington, D.C., where he died November 14, 1863. [NCT 4:364]
