ROSSWELL, New Mexico, September 28, 1944 – Colonel Orin J. Bushey, 50, commander of the Roswell Air Field, and two others from the base were killed when their AT-7 plane crashed three miles east of Weatherford, Texas, last night. The others were Major Edward E. Bailie, 37, and Staff Sergeant J. J. Nemtez, 26.
