Frederic William Boye, Jr. – Major General, United States Army

Frederic William Boye Jr was born on 16 December 1916 in Fort Bliss, Texas. He died on 10 October 2004 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was buried on 29 November 2004 in Arlington National Cemetery. He married Margaret Page Aleshire on 19 October 1940 in Ft Bliss, Texas. Margaret Page Aleshire was born on 14 March 1920 in Fort Riley, Kansas.  She was the daughter of Joseph Page Aleshire, Colonel, United States Army. was born on 6 Dec 1887 in Fort Custer, Montana. He died on 25 Jan 1951 in Mobile, Alabama. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetary. He married Eleanor Redwood Vidmer on 15 Jun 1915 in West Point, Orange, NY. [Parents]

Eleanor Redwood Vidmer was born on 11 Jul 1895 in Fort Assiniboine, Montana. She died on 17 Nov 1992 in Spanish Fort, Baldwin, AL. She was buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

NOTE: General Boye was the son-in-law of Joseph Page Aleshire, Colonel, United States Army.  The Colonel and his wife are also buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

NOTE:  His father, Frederic William Boye, Brigadier General, United States Army, is also buried in Arlington National Cemetery.


Frederic William Boye, Jr.

Commissioned in the Cavalry from West Point in 1939.  Duty with Allied Force Headquarters in 1942-43.  Commander of 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry, 3rd Infantry Division from 1943-44 during World War II, earning the Silver Star.  Graduated from the National War College in 1956.  Served with the Military Assistance Advisory Group in Vietnam, 1960-61.  Assistant Commandant, the Armored School, Fort Knox as a Brigadier General in 1962. As a Major General, served as Chief of Legislative Liaison from 1964 to 1966. From 1966-1967 was the Commanding General, 7th Infantry Division in Korea. Served as Chief of Staff, Central Treaty Organization, in Ankara, Turkey from 1967-69.  Completed his military service as Chief, Office of  Personnel Operations in Washington, D.C.

Retired in1971. Decorations included the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Distinguished Unit Citation, and eight campaign stars on his European Theater Service Ribbon.
