December 20, 1970: Killed-in-action in Vietnam, he became the central focus in a controversy between his divorced parents, each of whom wanted him to be buried near their homes.
Federal Judge Albert C. Wollenberg finally ruled that following memorial services in both Ontario, California, and Dallas, Texas, (the homes of his parents) he would be buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
