Private Daly was a member of the 3rd Platoon, H Company, 3rd Batttalion, 1st Marines. He was killed in action while manning Outpost “Hedy” in Korea on March 21, 1953. He was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.

He was buried with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery, Section 12, Grave 7139
