Louie Carlyle Hinson, Jr. – Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy

Chief Petty Officer Louie Carlyle Hinson, Jr., 52, of the 200 block of Cortland Lane, Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on February 22, 2006.

Chief Hinson was born in Oakland, California, and resided most of his younger life in Jacksonville, Florida. He retired from the U.S. Navy as an Electricians Mate Chief Petty Officer after twenty years of service. Chief Hinson's last assignment with the Navy was in Norfolk, Virginia.

He was employed as an electrician with Dynaric Incorporated at the time of his death.

Survivors include three children, Jessica Hinson of Jacksonville, Florida; Paul Hinson and Katie Hinson both of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his father, Louie C. Hinson, Sr. (also a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer), and a sister, Carla Hinson, both of South Carolina.

A service of remembrance was celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 2, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery.
