PATRICK H. MCANDREW
Retired Army Surgeon, 78, Was Brother of Pershing Ex-Aide PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, March 1, 1946 – Colonel Patrick H. McAndrew, who retired in 1928 after thirty years’ service in the Army Medical Corps, died here yesterday in his apartment at the Sheraton Hotel. His age was 78. Born at Hawley, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, Colonel McAndrew was graduated from Manhattan College in New York and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, class of 1893. he practiced medicine in Scranton before becoming an Army Surgeon during the Spanish-American War. He also saw service on the Mexican Border and in World War I. Colonel McAndrew was a brother of the late Major General James W. McAndrew, who was Chief of Staff to General John J. Pershing in World War I, and the last Msgr. Richard A. McAndrew of Wilkes-Barre. He leaves four children, Mrs. L. J. Greeley
of Spokane, Washington; Major T. R. McAndrew,
now in Manila; Miss Mary E. McAndrew of Washington, and Lieutenant Catherine
K. McAndrew, who in on terminal leave having served in France as an Army
dietitian, and two sisters, Mrs. John Creighton of Montclair, New Jersey,
and Mrs. Thomas Howley of Dunmore, Pennsylvania.
