Stanhope Bayne-Jones (1888-1970) Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 6, 1888. A.B. from Yale in 1910 and M.D. from John Hopkins in 1914. Professor, then Dean of Yale Medical School 1932-1942. Called to active duty in the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Army 1942-1946. Brigadier General in February 1944. Returned to inactive status in 1946. Decorations included the Distinguished Service Medal and three Silver Stars. Died in Washington on February 20, 1970.
