Born 12 October 1802, Died 21 January 1838 Virginia was born on 12 October 1802. She was
the daughter of John Mason and Anna Maria Murray. She married George Mason
on 23 October 1827. Virginia died on 21 January 1838 at Georgetown, D.C.,
at age 35. She was buried on 24 January 1838 at Old Presbyterian Burial
Grounds, Georgetown, D.C. She was re-buried on 12 May 1892 at Arlington
National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia; Section 1, Grave 302-A.
Her father was John Mason, Sr. of Virginia (4 April 1766-1849), who was born at Analostan Island, Virginia, and who died at Stafford County, Virginia. Her mother was Ann Marie Murray (13 October 1776-29 November 1859), who married John Mason, Sr. in 1796 in Annapolis, Maryland. She (Ann Marie) is buried at Christ Church, Alexandria, Alexandria County, Virginia. She was the second wife of George Mason (11 November 1797-25 March 1870) of Hollin Hall, Virginia. He was born at Mattawoman Plantation, Charles County, Maryland, and died at Spring Back, Fairfax County, Virginia. Her brother, James Murray Mason (born 3 November
1798 at Selma, Winchester County, Virginia, and died 28 April 1871 at Clarens,
Fairfax County, Virginia. He was U.S. Senator from Virginia and chaired
the Foreign Relations Committee. He was the Confederate Representative
to England, or France, with John Sidell. They were taken prisoner
in the Trent Affair and were later released on President Lincoln's
orders. He was buried at Christ Church, Alexandria, Virginia.

He was buried after 13 August 1831 at Old Presbyterian Burial Grounds, Georgetown, D.C.. He was re-buried on 12 May 1892 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia; Section 1, Grave 302-A. Alexander Macomb Mason Born 10 January 1831, Died 1 October 1835 Alexander was born on 10 January 1831. He was the son of John Mason Jr. and Catherine Macomb. Alexander died on 1 October 1835 at age 4. He was buried on 2 October 1835 at Old Presbyterian Burial Grounds, Georgetown, D.C.. Anna Maria Matilda Mason Born 7 September 1834, Died 18 December 1838 Anna was born on 7 September 1834. She was the daughter of John Mason Jr. and Catherine Macomb. Anna died on 18 December 1838 at Georgetown, D.C., at age 4. She was buried on 12 May 1892 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. Anna Maria Matilda Mason, 7 September 1834-18

inscription on the side of Virginia's stone is "Children of John Mason,

Poinsett Mason Born 7 August 1838, Died 3 November 1838 Poinsett was born on 7 August 1838. He was
the son of John Mason Jr. and Catherine Macomb. Poinsett died on 3 November
1838 at Claremont, Virginia, at age 0. She was born on 12 May 1892 at Arlington
National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.

Jane Marshall Rucker Macomb, the second wife of Alexander Macomb, Sr. (11 July 1791). Edwin Bennett was last-born son of Jane Marshall
and Alexander Macomb, Sr. He was born on December 3, 1802 and died
in Georgetown, D.C. on January 19, 1831 (the same day as his Father). He
was originally buried in the Old Presbyterian Burial Grounds in Georgetown,
D.C. However, he and his Mother were moved from there to Arlington
National Cemetery (Section 1, Grave 302-B) on 12 May 1892.
