WASHINGTON, August 31, 1902 – Funeral services for Commander William Cook Owen were held at St. Margaret’s Church at 2 o’clock this afternoon. Interment was in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Commander Owen died early Monday while en route
to Washington from Charleston, where he was in charge of the Navy Yard.
The following were honorary pallbearers: Commanders H. F. D. Davis, H.
B. Hird, A. H. Penn, T. J. Keleher and C. H. Wright and George Mitchell.
