HMCM Potts was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Silver Star, and was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. HMCM Potts is survived by his wife, Dorothy Potts; two sons, Larry Potts of Richmond, Virginia and John Potts of Cobb Island, Maryland; a daughter, Susan Harris of Oak Hill, Virginia; a brother, Charles Potts of West Virginia; an aunt, Leota Law of Seattle, Washington; and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2003 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at MULLINS & THOMPSON FUNERAL SERVICE, Fredericksburg Chapel, where services will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2003, at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. R. Kenneth Brooks officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery on February 18, 2003 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Military Order of Purple Heart Service Foundation, 5413C Backlick Rd., Springfield, VA 22151; or to American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliates, Memorials and Tributes Processing Center, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
