ARMY OFFICER KILLED
COLUMBIA, Ohio – September 1, 1938 – Lieutenant Colonel Alvan C. Sandeford, 48, intelligence officer of the Fifth Corps Area stationed at Fort Hayes, died tonight of injuries suffered earlier in the day in an automobile accident.
He was born in Midville, Georgia, where a brother, Ralph Sandeford, lives.
