He died on September 15, 1897 and was buried
in Section 13 of Arlington National Cemetery.
Rank and organization: Corporal, Company A, 2d Louisiana Infantry. Place and date: At Port Hudson, Lpuisiana, about 20 May 1863. Entered service: New Orleans, Louisiana. Birth: France. Date of issue: 20 July 1897. Citation: Volunteered to go within the enemy's
lines and at the head of a party of 8 destroyed a signal station, thereby
greatly aiding in the operations against Port Hudson that immediately followed.
