Gordon Del. Carrington (1894-1944)

Born in Evansville, Indiana on November 15, 1894.

Attended San Diego Junior College 1914-1915 and the University of California 1915-1916. Commissioned in the Coast Artillery Corps in 1916. Instructor at the Coast Artillery School in 1918. Served in Panama 1919-1921. Instructor with the California National Guard 1922-1925. Graduated from Command and General Staff School in 1932 and the Army War College in 1936. Instructor at the Army War College 1938-1939. In the office of the Chief of the Air Corps in 1940. Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel at the Army War College 1941-1942.

Brigadier General in February 1942. Commanding General of Coast Artillery Replacement Training Center, Camp Wallace in 1942. Inspector of Training, then Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations at Antiaircraft Command July 1942-August 1943. Commanding General of 62nd Antiaircraft Artillery Brigade August 1943 until his death on August 21, 1944.
