Gregory Hoisington, Colonel., United States Army. Taught at West Point.


Colonel Gregory Hoisington, Seattle, who had been commander of the garrison at Chilkoot Barracks, assumed command of the regiment when it went to Alaska, holding that post for about a year and a half until he was succeeded by Colonel P. E. Le Stourgeon, Lexington, Kentucky.


Colonel Hoisington was also the father of Perry M. Hoisington, Major General, United States Air Force and of Elizabeth P. Hoisington, Brigadier General, United States Army, each of whom are also buried in Arlington National Cemetery.  His other son, Gregory Hoisington, Jr., First Lieutenant, United States Army Air Corps, was killed in a 1941 automobile accident and is also buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
