Colonel Allen was General
Allen’s son, Henry T. Jr. A graduate of Harvard in 1913, he had been
commissioned in 1917. He was cited for gallantry with the 90th Division
during World War I and remained in the Army after the war, retiring as
a Colonel in 1946.
As a Captain, Allen was selected from the American
Forces in Germany to be a member of the 1920 U.S. Army Olympic Equestrian
Team. He competed in the individual jumping competition at the 1920 Games.
