Jeremiah Williams – Lieutenant Colonel,United States Army

Jeremiah Williams was born on 23 March 1832 at New Martinsvill, West Virginia.  He died at Brooklyn, New York, on 11 May 1915.  He served as Lieutenant Colonel of the 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Civil War.  he was captured on 1 July 1863 during the Gettysburg Campaign.

Civil War Union Army Officer. He served during the Civil War as Lieutenant Colonel and commander of the 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was captured July 1, 1863, at Gettysburg.

During the 1880 United States Census he was residing at Woodsfield, Monroe County, Ohio.  Residing with him were his wife, Flora Williams, age 48 and born in Ohio; their daughter, Ella Williams, age 19 born in Ohio and at school; their daughter, Daisy Williams, age 8 born in Ohio and at school; their son, LeRoyWilliams, age 5, born in Ohio and at School; and Josie Okey, his half-sister, age 23 born in Ohio and a school teacher.  Jeremiah’s profession was listed as Clerk.
