Notes: He graduated from Fairmont HS in 1940.He was a graduate of the Infantry Officer Candidate school, and later transferred to the paratroopers and received his “boots and wings”. He went overseas with the 101st Airborne division, 50th
parachute Infantry Co. and took part in the invasion of Holland on September 18, 1944. He had been employed with the Baltimore and Ohio RR in Fairmont prior to entering the service.
