COX, JOHN W., Private, Company G, 2nd Regiment, N.C. Troops. Resided in Jones County where he enlisted at age 20, May 24, 1861, for the war. Present or accounted for until wounded and captured at Kelly’s Ford, Virginia, November 7, 1863. Admitted to hospital at Washington, D.C., November 9, 1863, and died of wound on December 28, 1863. Michael Robert Patterson was born in Arlington and is the son of a former officer of the US Army.
