On 5 January 1998 Ruth Parsons Schabacker, Lieutenant Colonel, United States Air Force, was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
Ruth has the unique distinction of being the model for the Nurse's monument at Arlington. She was a great supporter of the Women's Memorial recently dedicated at the entrance of the Cemetery.
She was buried with her husband, Brigadier General Clarence H. Schabacker, in section 30, about 25 yards away from the Women's Memorial.
