Wyburn Dwight Brown (1899-1981) Born in Marion, South Carolina on June 23, 1899. Commissioned in the Field Artillery from West Point in 1919. Instructor there 1924-1929, then Professor 1932-1936. Graduated from Command and General Staff School in 1937. Instructor at the Field Artillery School 1937-1941. With Operations Division at the War Department General Staff 1941-1942. Commanding General of 11th Airborne Division Artillery December 1942-March 1944. Brigadier General in February 1943. Commanding General of 33rd Field Artillery Brigade March 1944-January 1945. Chief of the U.S. Military Mission to Colombia 1945-1946. Reverted to Colonel in July 1946. Retired in June 1951. Decorations included the Bronze Star Died on April 3, 1981
