James Patrick Hussar – Major,United States Marine Corps

 James Patrick Hussar, 37, a retired Marine Corps Major who was a Navy Department security specialist and a 1986 law enforcement graduate of the University of Maryland, died July 30 at Georgetown University Hospital after a stroke. He lived in Port Tobacco, Virginia.

Major Hussar, who was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was commissioned in the Marine Corps in 1986 and became a counterintelligence officer. He served in two peacekeeping missions in the Balkans. After becoming a civilian Navy official in
Washington in October, he remained in the Marine Corps Reserve.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Chapel Point, Maryland. His interests included history and running. He had completed 12 Marine Corps marathons.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Elizabeth Hussar, whom he married in 1988, and a daughter, Elizabeth Lauren Hussar, both of Port Tobacco; his parents, John Richard and Ann Marie Hussar of Lancaster; two brothers; and a sister. Another daughter,
Patricia Mary Hussar, died in 1990.
